With no place to rest his head

He sleeps tonight on a park bench

How did I ever fall this far?
Why is the world so cold and dark?
When will I ever know my part in all this tragedy?

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted in their pain and suffering
The Lord weeps for the brokenhearted and the lost who don’t know his name

With no place to take the kids
She endures his drunken fits
He says I love you and I’ll quit

Sometimes the bruises and the hurt
Get so bad she misses work
When will it all stop getting worse in all this tragedy?

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted in their pain and suffering
The Lord weeps for the brokenhearted and the lost who don’t know his name

The power of His name
Is the promise to be saved
Never on your own
Never all alone

Never all alone

With no place to rest his head
And betrayed by all his friends
He prays tonight for a pardon

Father take this cup from me
Unless there is no other way
I will lay my life in the hands of men to end this tragedy
